Lammas

Lugnasa (Lúnasa in modern Irish) is both the name for the month of August and the first of three harvesting festivals in our year.
This is a time for celebration.

Traditionally celebrating the first corn, with harvest feasts and handfastings.
The Anglo-Saxon word for this harvest festival is Lammas and though these words are presumed to be related and interchangeable, Lammas, comes from hlaf-mas or loaf mas, and celebrates the harvest of wheat.

This first harvest festival is a time to rest and enjoy the fruits of your labour and all you have worked for this year.
It is a time to celebrate all that is gifted to us and the gifts we share with the world
It is a time for conserving our energy for the dark time of the year and a time of gratitude for the abundance this season provides.
